“This work offers itself as an affectionate and oblique panorama of thecontemporary poetry. Not only current besides, since appear some figures of formerly, such Villon, Rutebeuf or Léopardi. Not only lyrical either, since many silhouettes of theprosesovereign such as Flaubert, Bloy or Aymé. An intimate landscape, wet, reckless as much as derisory, of an extreme zinc literature, would be a more accurate definition of this collection of street and vintage songs.

Two hundred and twenty-seven literary portraits in their juice, so to speak. In each sketch, a specific drink, a favorite tavern, a banner, aatmosphereelected, a pewter counter and thedecoris erected. The author, alone, facing thetorment of glassfree. A Calenburgian spirit can rub shoulders with the most abrupt despair here. The wait, thedrunkennessand slow death pace in these spirit-of-wine illuminated pictures. Comedians with a dark soul are not lacking in the call from Alphonse Allais to Francis Blanche, from Jules Renard to Cami. The visionary irregulars either, bizarre consumers: Jean-Pierre Brisset or Georges Fourest, Alphonse Rabbe or Henri Calet.

"Solitudes on the terrace" is the current title of this book of liquid hours and misty daydreams, but it could just as well have been called "Chagrins en vitre", "Zinc on the lookout" or even "Public despair". . Each writer in profile, bent over his pedestal table, corresponds to a jagged text, with holes like honey wax. At each bar prelude, a lyrical tour.

A whole club of inconsolables in the sawdust of the counters. »

“Among the 227 poets on the terrace, I chose 50, for reading, according to various criteria:

I was careful to mix: French but also Italians, Americans, Scandinavians, Romanians, Portuguese, Austro-Hungarians, British… Everything! I was guided by a sensitive and personal affection, therefore very subjective, in relation to the writings and the life of these poets " -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5cd e-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_         _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_           _cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
