Max Jacob
Holy tightrope walker!

Creation: 2012

Design and interpretation: Eric Cenat and Patrice Delbourg

Spring Selection of Poets

This theatrical reading conceived by the writer Patrice Delbourg and the actor Éric Cénat is devoted to Max Jacob, a major figure in French poetry from the first part of the 20th century. Fallacious and authentic, wiseand bruised, baroqueand studious, guiltyand martyr, it is very rare to encounter so many paradoxes and contrasts in the same personality.

Alternately follow one another on stage: biographical elements of an extraordinary destiny that goes through childhood in Quimper, the artistic adventure of the “Bateau Lavoir” in Paris, the spiritual retreat in Saint Benoît sur Loire, the tragic end at _cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_camp of Drancy;  poems between facetious banter and painful seriousness; excerpts from letters to his friends (Jean Cocteau, Marcel Bealu, Roger Toulouse)...
